Eureka Theatrical is where you can find all of Eureka’s theatrical releases. Starting with a hugely successful nationwide run of Metropolis in 2002, Eureka has since had modest arthouse success with Peter Watkins’ Punishment Park and the late Shohei Imamura’s Vengeance is Mine.

2006 saw our biggest theatrical success so far with Phil Morrison’s Oscar-nominated Junebug (dedicated microsite here) and the ensuing deluxe edition 2-disc set was released on 21 August, 2006, look out for the Blu-ray which is released on 22 June 2009

September 2006 saw the release of anarchic Danish animation Terkel in Trouble, featuring the voices of Adrian Edmondson, Bill Bailey and Johnny Vegas.

In 2007, Eureka released basketball documentary The Heart of the Game and a lovely new film from China called Little Red Flowers (dedicated microsite here).

July 2008, Mad Detective is released, co-directed by one of the most prolific directors to come out of Hong Kong – Johnnie To – alongside long time collaborator Wai Ka Fai. This off-beat police drama has been enthralling audiences world wide, and has won multiple awards accross the globe. Visit the microsite here

January 2009, Tokyo Sonata is released nationwide to critical acclaim. The latest film from Kiyoshi Kurosawa – famous for his groundbreaking, existential horror films such as Cure and Kairo (Pulse) – set Cannes alight last year with a surprising change of pace to, that staple of Japanese cinema, the family drama. June 2009 – Soul Power In 1974, the most celebrated American R&B acts of the time came together with the most renowned musical groups in Southern Africa for a 12-hour, three-night long concert held in Zaire. Soul Power has been crafted from the extensive footage which remained after the making of When We Were Kings, which famously documented the epic title fight, but only briefly touched upon the Zaire ‘74 music festival.
