Eureka! is proud to unveil its March 2026 release schedule, bringing together three extraordinary works of world cinema. This month’s line-up spans continents and genres, from a newly restored wuxia classic of early Hong Kong cinema, to a searing historical epic from a Golden Bear–winning Japanese master, and a towering achievement of French fantasy and horror widely regarded as one of the genre’s finest films.
Cruel Tale of Bushido (1963) | Directed by Tadashi Imai
Masters of Cinema Series | Blu-ray | Available from 23 March 2026 (UK), 24 March 2026 (North America)
Best known for socially conscious dramas such as Until We Meet Again and An Inlet of Muddy Water, acclaimed Japanese director Tadashi Imai also proved himself a formidable talent in period filmmaking. Those two sensibilities—humanist drama and historical severity—converge in what many consider his masterpiece: Cruel Tale of Bushido.
A ruthless deconstruction of the romanticised ideals of bushido, the film stars Eijiro Tono (Seven Samurai) and Masayuki Mori (Rashomon) in powerful supporting roles and features a foreboding score by celebrated composer Toshiro Mayuzumi. Its uncompromising vision earned Imai the Golden Bear Award at the 1963 Berlin Film Festival.
The Masters of Cinema Series is honoured to present Cruel Tale of Bushido on Blu-ray for the first time in both the UK and North America.
This strictly limited edition of 2,000 copies per territory is housed in an O-card slipcase and includes a collector’s booklet.
The Devil’s Hand (1943) | Directed by Maurice Tourneur
The Masters of Cinema Series | Blu-ray | Available from 16 March 2026
Directed by cinematic pioneer Maurice Tourneur (Cécile Is Dead) and starring Pierre Fresnay (La Grande Illusion), The Devil’s Hand stands alongside Les Diaboliques and Eyes Without a Face as one of the greatest horror films ever produced in France.
A distinctly French reimagining of the Faust legend and The Monkey’s Paw, the film was adapted from Gérard de Nerval’s 1927 novel and produced under German occupation during World War II. Elegant, unsettling, and morally complex, it remains a landmark of fantasy cinema.

The Invincible Eight (1971) | Directed by Lo Wei
Eureka Classics | Blu-ray | Available from: 16 March 2026
Produced shortly before Lo Wei achieved international fame with Bruce Lee in The Big Boss and Fist of Fury, The Invincible Eight was one of the very first films made by Golden Harvest following the company’s founding in 1970.
A classic wuxia tale, the film stars Nora Miao (The Way of the Dragon), Angela Mao (Hapkido), Paul Chang Chung (Police Story), and James Tien (Yes, Madam!), with fight choreography by Sammo Hung—who also appears onscreen as a whip-wielding henchman. Historically significant, the film played a key role in establishing Golden Harvest as a major force in Hong Kong cinema.
Eureka Classics is proud to present The Invincible Eight on Blu-ray for the first time outside of Asia.
