Horror classics, cult thrillers, and a 4K world exclusive as Eureka unveils its spine-chilling October 2025 line-up

Eureka! has announced its October 2025 home video releases, delivering a thrilling mix of cult horror, international genre cinema, and long-overdue Blu-ray premieres. Horror fans and collectors are in for a treat, as this month’s line-up features a landmark of extreme cinema, a legendary Hong Kong survival horror, a twisted satire from a cult auteur, and a gothic classic from one of European cinema’s most infamous visionaries.

Martyrs (2008) – 4K UHD World Premiere – The Masters of Cinema Series

One of the most controversial and celebrated horror films of the 21st century, Martyrs makes its global 4K UHD debut as part of Eureka’s prestigious Masters of Cinema series. A defining entry in the New French Extremity movement, Pascal Laugier’s visceral and deeply philosophical film remains a brutal, haunting meditation on suffering and transcendence.

Boasting harrowing performances from its female leads and unforgettable special effects by the late Benoît Lestang, Martyrs transcends its “torture porn” label to emerge as a masterwork of modern horror. The 4K UHD + Blu-ray dual format edition is housed in a hardbound slipcase, limited to 4,000 units (with an additional 2,000 now added due to overwhelming demand), and includes a 100-page collector’s book and fold-out poster. Available from 27 October 2025.

The Island (1985) – Blu-ray Premiere Outside Asia – The Masters of Cinema Series

Often cited as director Po-Chih Leong’s finest genre work, The Island reimagines the American survival horror formula within a distinctly Hong Kong context. Drawing comparisons to DeliveranceThe Hills Have Eyes, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, this rare cult gem pits a group of educated urbanites against a terrifying rural underclass on a remote island.

Eureka brings The Island to Blu-ray for the first time outside of Asia, with a strictly limited release of 2,000 copies per territory. Each edition comes in an O-card slipcase and includes a collector’s booklet. Available from 13 October 2025 in the UK and 14 October 2025 in North America.

The Ambulance (1990) – UK Blu-ray Debut – Eureka Classics

From the twisted imagination of indie legend Larry Cohen, The Ambulance turns a symbol of safety into a vehicle of terror. Starring Eric Roberts and James Earl Jones, and featuring a surprise cameo from Marvel icon Stan Lee, this darkly satirical thriller follows a comic book artist investigating a mysterious ambulance that abducts its passengers.

Long overshadowed by Cohen’s more famous works, The Ambulance finally receives its due with its first-ever UK Blu-ray release. The limited edition of 2,000 copies features an O-card slipcase and collector’s booklet. Available from 13 October 2025.

The Diabolical Dr Z (1966) – UK Blu-ray Debut – Eureka Classics

A forgotten gothic gem from cult auteur Jesús “Jess” Franco, The Diabolical Dr Z (also known as Miss Muerte) is a stylish and atmospheric entry in Europe’s 1960s horror wave. Scripted by Oscar-winning writer Jean-Claude Carrière (The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie), the film blends noir elements, gothic horror, and proto-exploitation flair.

Marking its UK Blu-ray premiere, this Spanish-French co-production arrives in a strictly limited edition of 2,000 units, complete with an O-card slipcase and collector’s booklet. Available from 20 October 2025.

With these long-anticipated titles, Eureka! once again proves its commitment to preserving and celebrating genre cinema in beautifully restored, collectible editions
