Fritz Lang’s CLOAK AND DAGGER and the Award-Winning THE MIRACLE WORKER feature amongst Eureka’s January 2020 line up

Eureka have announced their January 2020 line up today which will feature Fritz Lang’s gripping WWII espionage thriller starring Gary Cooper and Lilli Palmer; Arthur Penn’s heartfelt biographical story about the life of Helen Keller, starring Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke; plus a standard edition re-issue of Cujo.

Directed by Fritz Lang as his follow-up to the noir classic Scarlet Street (and not long after the war itself had ended), Cloak and Dagger is an underrated entry in Lang’s oeuvre, a crackerjack spy saga with a commanding Gary Cooper performance and a wealth of masterful Langian suspense sequences (as well as some genuinely hard-hitting action set pieces). A more perfectly titled film would be difficult to imagine, as Cloak and Dagger is a consummate wartime espionage suspense picture, and an intriguing mixture of genres for Lang: part spy thriller, part romantic melodrama, and part patriotic war movie, Cloak and Dagger is another triumph among Lang’s U.S. features, and an expert exercise in genre fusion that’s ripe for rediscovery. The Masters of Cinema are proud to present Cloak and Dagger on Blu-ray for the first time in the UK in a Dual Format (Blu-ray & DVD) edition from 27 January 2020.

Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke are remarkable in The Miracle Worker, the Academy Award-winning story of Helen Keller. Ennobling and uplifting, this inspirational story of courage and hope is one of the finest works of art in the history of motion pictures.  Eureka Classics is proud to present Arthur Penn’s The Miracle Worker in its UK debut on Blu-ray, released on 27 January 2020.

Last but not least, January 2020 will see the re-release of Lewis Teague’s Cujo, the terrifyingly effective 80s cult horror based on the best-selling novel from Stephen King. Cujo will be re-issued as a single-disc Blu-ray edition (containing 5 hours of Special Features) as part of the Eureka Classics range from 27 January 2020.
