The Masters of Cinema Series is blessed with a couple of crime thrillers as Eureka reveals its January 2025 line-up

Eureka! has announced its January 2025 line-up for the UK and North America. Featured amongst this line-up is an offbeat murder-mystery helmed by acclaimed directors Johnnie To and Wai Ka-fai; and a mesmerising and hypnotic psychological thriller from Kiyoshi Kurosawa comes to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.

Running on Karma is a crime thriller with a distinctly Buddhist flare starring a titan of Hong Kong cinema in Andy Lau (Infernal Affairs). A film that balances genre thrills with deep philosophical questions on the nature of spirituality and faith, Running on Karma stands with Mad Detective as one of the most interesting and unique collaborations between Johnnie To (Running Out of Time) and Wai Ka-fai (Peace Hotel). The Masters of Cinema series is proud to present the film on Blu-ray for the first time outside of Asia. Available from 27 January 2025 in the UK, and from 28 January 2025 in North America. Running on Karma will be released in a Limited edition of 2000 copies (per territory) exclusively featuring an O-card slipcase.

A landmark in the history of Japanese cinema, Cure was the breakthrough film for director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, who would go on to make several further modern masterpieces in PulseCreepy and Tokyo Sonata. Released to critical acclaim in both the East and the West, this nerve-shredding thriller charts the hunt for a depraved serial killer in a bleak and decaying Tokyo. Described as one of the greatest films of all time by Bong Joon-ho, the filmmaker behind Memories of MurderThe HostSnowpiercer and ParasiteCure is a cerebral and deeply unsettling hybrid of police procedural, serial killer film and horror movie to stand with The Silence of the Lambs and Seven. Having given the film its UK Blu-ray premiere in 2018, the Masters of Cinema series is now proud to present the film on 4K UHD. Available from 27 January 2025, in a Limited edition of 2000 copies exclusively featuring an O-card slipcase.
