Two cult favourites amongst martial arts fans and three monster tales of sci-fi terror complete Eureka’s April line-up

Eureka! has announced its April 2022 line-up today. Featured amongst this announcement are an iconic and influential martial arts flick directed by legendary action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping, a fast and furious kung fu comedy classic directed by Sammo Hung, and a trio of sci-fi thrillers from the Universal vaults.

Directed by legendary action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping (The Matrix; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Dreadnaught expertly blends majestic action sequences with superb physical comedy, courtesy of stars Yuen Biao (The Prodigal Son), Bryan Leung Kar-yan (Warriors Two), and Yuen Shun-yee. Notable for being the final film in which Kwan Tak-hing portrayed folk hero Wong Fei-hung (and, oddly enough, for its famous laundry scene being directly referenced in Batman Forever), Dreadnaught is a cult favourite amongst martial arts fans, and Eureka Classics is proud to present the film in its UK debut on Blu-ray from a brand new 2K restoration! Available from 25 April 2022, the first print-run of 2000 copies will feature a Limited-Edition O-card Slipcase & Collector’s Booklet.

Another fast and furious kung fu comedy classic directed by Sammo Hung (The Millionaires’ Express), Knockabout features a cast of martial arts movie legends including Yuen Biao (The Prodigal Son), Bryan “Beardy” Leung Kar-yan (Warriors Two), and Lau Kar-wing (Odd Couple) alongside Hung himself.  Featuring one of the greatest action finales in the history of Hong Kong cinema, Knockabout is yet another classic of martial arts filmmaking from the legendary Sammo Hung, and Eureka Classics is proud to present the film in its UK debut on Blu-ray from a brand new 2K restoration! Available from 25 April 2022, the first print-run of 2000 copies will feature a Limited-Edition O-card Slipcase & Collector’s Booklet.

For the third release of the month we dive into the Universal Pictures vaults to bring you a trio of sci-fi monster terrors, namely 1941’s Man Made Monster (Directed by George Waggner), 1957’s The Monolith Monsters(Directed by John Sherwood) & 1958’s Monster on the Campus (Directed by Jack Arnold). With genre legends such as Lionel Atwill (Son of Frankenstein), Lon Chaney, Jr. (The Wolf Man) & Grant Williams (The Incredible Shrinking Man) providing the onscreen thrills, Three Monster Tales Of Sci-Fi Terror is a superb Limited Edition Collector’s Edition set encased in a Limited O-card Slipcase which also contains a Limited edition Booklet featuring new writing on the films included in this set. Available from 11 April 2022.

Last but not least, Eureka has also announced that Karloff at Columbia; a collection of essential films from one of the most recognisable figures in Horror; will be re-issued in February at a lower price point.
